You asked, I’m answering! I had the chance to talk with several moms yesterday who wanted the specifics about the BTFMC before jumping in. Here they are!

The course will happen over four weeks. Each week will have a module of teaching from me. Each module will be under 1 hour of content. The module titles are:

  • Module 1: Mindset
  • Module 2: Nutrition Basics
  • Module 3: Storage & Travel
  • Module 4: Finding Your Routine

The Details

In Module 1 we will talk about how to change your mindset to prepare for a blenderized diet. I set the stage for blending success by giving you a brief history of tube feeding (spoiler alert, real food via tube isn’t a new idea!) And I explain the medicalization of feeding via g-tube and talk about why everyone with a tube is being prescribed formula and all the factors at play. At the very end of this module, I give you info you need to start serving real food via tube! That’s right… week one, and you’re starting to blend!

In Module 2 I do a very brief overview of macronutrients, micronutrients, and hydration needs. I do not aim to tell you what to feed your child, but only to give you a basic foundational understanding of these concepts. This will arm you with knowledge to affectively troubleshoot throughout your blending journey. I also walk you through the step-by-step recipe-building process using a free app on your cell phone.

In Module 3 I teach you food safety basics and answer questions about freezing, refrigeration, and travel. I do a comprehensive overview of the most beloved products in the blended community and show you a few hacks of feeding via pump or syringe. This module is the nuts and bolts of tube feeding and it will give you what you need to take blending everywhere and normalize the way you feed your kid.

In Module 4 I will break down several routine options you can employ for your own success. I explain that there is no one way to blend for your child and I share share all the many options for safely planning, cooking, blending, and storing your child’s food. This will give you all the information you need to try your hand at a routine that works for your family’s schedule and values. Then, I’ll show you my personal favorite method for blending that provides variety, peace-of-mind, and a stash of blends in the freezer for a rainy day!

Throughout each module, you will receive printable resources to accompany your learning. Some of them are sheets you can fill out, while others are for posting inside your cabinet doors as a reminder.

What other questions do you have about this course?

Enrollment is open now! And it’s even more affordable.
